Today's #featheredfriday feature is the Kentucky Warbler (𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘺𝘱𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘢). Their radiant coloring comes from pigments known as carotenoids. This selection was collected by George M. Sutton in West Virginia from 1936-1937.

On 11/06/ 1894, Staten Island residents voted in favor of becoming a borough of NYC. The consolidated City of New York became official on January 1, 1898. This artifact, a handwritten ballot from that vote, harkens back to that famous local decision!
