Does ownership and management understand lease accounting? "Nope" Does the bank or buyers understand or want lease accounting? "Nope" Great, then we can skip it and just take an exception. "Wait, no, we HAVE to be clean GAAP. It will confuse everyone otherwise." #GAAPTwitter

@LisaTSimpsonCPA I have a handful of clients using smurfs still. But most left it for GAAP. Everyone wants GAAP and doesn't understand other frameworks. The confusion I have seen around FRF for SMEs is worse than just explaining a GAAP exception. More PCC simplicity please. #GAAPTwitter

Could it be the reason your lumber quotes aren’t down as far as futures or replacement value is….accounting bullsh*t. No one wants to MTM their inventory!! If you don’t buy anything, you don’t have a mark. Good or Bad take? #GAAPtwitter

Recommend summary schedule of the multiple revenue schedules with reference tickmarks and a total tied to PG1 of the application. Feels like some audit work. #GAAPTwitter

You know you have GAAP ptsd when you drive by a "first month rent free" sign and think "bummer, gonna have to straight-line that lease." Glad I just live on the tax side these days. #GAAPTwitter < #TaxTwitter
