I am happy to announce that the Kano State Government, through the Kano Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), has launched a comprehensive geospatial mapping of industries (small, medium and large scale) for the first time in Kano, across all 44 Local Government Areas of the state. The initiative is designed to produce digital maps with geo-location of all industries in the state to aid our ease of doing business drive, determine moribund industries for their recoveries, aftercare services, and other investment decisions that will not only attract capital inflow in the state, but support the state’s investment agenda. Some of the key information to collect include location, sector, energy demand and supply, functionality, investment value, challenges, human resource, etc., among others. This is a collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Investment, Kano State Bureau of Statistics, Kano Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, and eHealth Africa. This effort aligns with His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s vision to foster a transparent, data-driven investment decisions, by capturing real-time industrial geospatial data. The state will be better positioned to attract targeted investments, guide infrastructure expansion, and support industries based on their actual needs and growth potentials.
