IBD complications are HIGH, whereas complications from the drugs we use to treat it are LOW, however every patient needs a thorough discussion of what their risks of therapy are before starting treatment, excellent talk by @HorstIBDDoc @VUMC_GI #GIupdate19 @VUMChealth @VUMCibd

Updates on management of #EoE presented by @RishiNaikMD - currently no FDA-approved med, but effective treatments include topical steroids (no difference b/t formulations), dietary therapy (#SFED, #4FED, #1FED, elemental diet), and #PPI. @VUMC_GI #esophagealsession #giupdate19

Great talk by my former co-fellow @KeithObstein on #polypectomy techniques - cold snare has similar complete resection rate for polyps <1 cm as hot snare, but less mucosal defect & bleeding. Cold biopsy can be used if lesion fits completely withun cup of forceps (<3 mm). @VUMC_GI
