I was invited to speak at the U.S. Conference of Mayors 94th Winter Meeting about infrastructure and transportation safety, including Carmel’s work through the Safe Streets for All planning grant we received from the U.S. Department of Transportation. This grant allows us to step back, ask smarter questions and take a systemwide look at how people move through our city and where we can do better. Carmel is nationally recognized for our roundabouts, but we are focused on what comes next: becoming the safest city in the nation through a data-driven, people-centered approach that puts lives first.
