Today marked another major milestone for the @CityofDeltonaFL as @amazon officially opened its new Distribution Center.
What makes this facility especially significant is that it is the only Amazon distribution center of its kind in the State of Florida, supplying other Amazon facilities throughout the region and helping keep one of the world’s largest logistics networks moving.
With the addition of the upcoming Trinity project, Amazon’s total investment in Deltona is approaching half a billion dollars. That investment goes far beyond buildings. It includes hundreds of millions of dollars in construction, machinery, equipment, inventory, and most importantly, people. Those dollars will continue circulating throughout our local economy, supporting families, businesses, and creating opportunities for generations to come.
Amazon first invested in Deltona in 2020. At a time when many businesses were closing their doors, Amazon was hiring, investing, and helping ensure families could safely receive the products they needed at home. They believed in Deltona then, and they continue to believe in Deltona today.
These are not just jobs. They are careers. Whether you are looking to enter the workforce, advance your career, or pursue opportunities in logistics, manufacturing, supply chain operations, leadership, or executive management, those opportunities exist right here in Deltona.
This is what economic development looks like. This is what investment in a community looks like. This is the American story.
Thank you to Amazon for continuing to invest in our City of Destiny and for creating opportunities for our residents.

At tonight’s meeting, we passed the Healthy Spaces Initiative. This comprehensive set of ordinances prevents homeless camps and panhandling in League City.
We have one councilman who has consistently denied the existence of a problem. These pictures were taken from one of the recent camps City crews cleaned up. Ignoring the problem does no good for the taxpayers or the homeless.
We have partnered with the County and nonprofits to get homeless people mental health, substance abuse, and permanent housing assistance.
Loving your neighbor is not ignoring them, it is providing real assistance.
Today @Meta is proud to launch America’s Workforce Academy with our partners.
This program will provide paid training, certification and a job for Americans of all backgrounds to be part of building American leadership in the world.
Because we believe the Future is for Everyone.

The United States Conference of Mayors prepared this very nice (and brief) video that they showed at our Annual Meeting in Long Beach this weekend. It covers my year as President, in case you’re interested in the work we’ve been doing on the national (and international) level this past year…
When you just can’t get enough about #roundabouts, here is an updated take, including this from me:
“By prioritizing safety, efficiency, beauty, and walkability at every intersection, we sparked a cultural shift in how our community experiences its streets.”

🇺🇸🏖️Thank you to all who joined us for the CLA|FCL Forum & Partners reception at @usmayors 2026 Annual Meeting in Long Beach. #mayorsleading#strongcommunityleaders#GOPLocal See you September at the CLA|FCL 2026 Indiana Fall National Conference.
It's Day 3 at the @usmayors' 94th Annual Meeting! @MayorMattie stopped by the CityHealth booth to celebrate Fort Worth’s 2025 bronze medal. Stop by the CityHealth booth to learn more about our 2025 assessment and how cities are leading with health.
Public safety is the foundation of every successful community and the number one priority of our city.
That's why I'm proud to join Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett in co-hosting a Regional Mayor’s Public Safety Partnership Summit with mayors and police chiefs from across Central Indiana.
Crime doesn't recognize city limits, and neither should our efforts to stop it. This summit will be action-oriented and focused on outcomes. Together, we will advance real solutions to prevent crime, hold repeat offenders accountable, address juvenile crime and strengthen regional cooperation.
Our residents deserve safe communities to shop, visit parks and enjoy their daily lives free from the threat of violence. This summit is an important step toward achieving that goal.
Today, I had the honor of joining community members, city staff, and our local partners for the groundbreaking of exciting improvements coming to Harris Saxon Park.
These upgrades will include new pickleball courts, a new basketball court, and a walking trail, creating even more opportunities for recreation and outdoor activities for our residents. Even more exciting, Phase Two of the project will bring a splash pad for families and children to enjoy.
I want to thank all of the City and County elected officials who joined us today, as well as the residents who took the time to share their ideas and feedback throughout the planning process. Your input helped shape this vision and ensured these improvements reflect the needs and desires of our community.
This investment in Harris Saxon Park is another step forward as we continue enhancing quality of life throughout our City of Destiny. Harris Saxon is just the beginning, and I look forward to sharing more about additional park improvements planned across Deltona in the months ahead.
