Nick, The question to ask is: was what i posted an irrefutable fact of our history in Lagos or not? Was what i tweeted different from what our King, the Oba of Lagos, said or what one of our revered elders, Alhaji Okunnu recently wrote about? Should i, because of political expediency, or "native intelligence", as you put it, deny our history? Have Lagos traditional institutions become so emasculated that people are questioning the words of our King. In 2023 a people cannot agree on their history but aim to build a future? I have taken this painful and grueling path because i am fully persuaded - and the evidences abound - that Lagos deserves better leadership and that the people must be emancipated from the kleptocratic political elite. Since when is native intelligence about normalizing lies or hiding from truth. What society prospers in lying to itself. We have become so comfortable with lies that a Governor will appropriate our money for his legal bills and government officials will come on air and brazenly lie. They spent N2 billion for fans and tell you it's a typo. Truth sounds like hate to those who hate truth. My brother, i do not want to be elected for being politically correct at the expense of truth. If that was my aim, i would have joined the ruling party when approached in 2016 and 2019. I want to be elected because a majority of Lagosians can key into a vision of a smart city - a leading destination for global finance and a modern economy held together by the rule of law and TRUTH. A city that provides the masses with affordable public transportation, affordable mass housing, subsidized public health for the poor, makes investment in critical infrastructure and decentralizes development, where places like Alimosho, Ikorodu, Badagary, Ojo can enjoy as much infrastructural development as Surulere and Ikeja. I believe in a Lagos that works for ALL and not the connected few. Anything less is not worth my time. We are where we are today because too many people that know better, and of good conscience have kept quiet or decided to play ball. Unfortunately, the game they are playing, simply does not favour the people of Lagos or Nigeria. #ourlagos
