🇵🇹As luck would have it, Porto’s original #medievalstructure has survived up to today and is still the present-day centre.
🏛️How can #Porto ensure the #accessibility of streets and historical public buildings for persons with disabilities and seniors?

"It’s interesting how much you learn about your local area once you take time to look" - another #GY233 student quote to gladden the heart, validating the importance we place on #observation and #fieldwork in #Geography
And another shoutout for @NLIreland's wonderful photographic collection from another #GY233 student: "My favourite part was using the National Library of Ireland to get historical photos of my area as this was the best way to see how the landscape has changed over time"
Delighted to see my #GY233 students appreciating the benefits of #fieldwork in #geography - another generation of converts!
@Gilleeece @AaMIreland @RTE_Culture @RadioBrendanRTE @NIAH_Ireland @OrdnanceIreland @HeritageHubIRE @NMIreland Great stuff Emma, this is basically what my #GY233 and #GY329 students have been up to in my classes this semester. Maybe they'll believe me that it's relevant, now that it's been on RTE?!

Lovely example to use when explaining the importance of understanding #boundaries to #geography students #GY203 #GY233
This simple earthen bank in Co Galway is not just a field division, it also marks a townland, a parish and a barony boundary. It's quite feasible that parts of it are over 1000 years old.
