Language matters As subtle as it seems, taking African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) and repackaging it as “Gen Z speak” is a subtle erasure of Black people. SNL is telling their audience that Black culture belongs to non-Black youth #SNL #GenZHospital #CultureIsPower

I think @elonmusk did great on @nbcsnl last night. However, I do think that the #GenZHospital sketch missed an opportunity to say that she was #Supremated instead of cremated.

For a group of people who don’t like labels they seem to have a label for everything. #AAVE #GenZHospital

They love the culture but hate the people. Unoriginal, underwhelming, and unable. Y’all still don’t understand our grammar and never will because it’s seasoned like our food and y’all know nothing about flavor. #AAVE #GenZHospital #SNL

AAVE is completely different “Gen Z” talk 😂😂. That skit was def talking about the “lingo” that’s used on social media nowadays (i.e tik tok) , NOT portraying a “watered down” version of AAVE. Pls y’all 💀 #AAVE #GenZHospital
