#Eritrea's delegation, led by FM H.E. Osman Saleh participated at the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in the Defence of the #UNCharter (#GoFUNCharter) held under the theme: “More Equitable World Order at 80: Realizing the Promise of the UN Charter for All Nations and Peoples”. Minister #OsmanSaleh underlined that the Ministerial Meeting comes at a critical global transition period, in which the #world order is undergoing through transformative changes as the defunct unipolarity, unilateralism, and the so-called ‘rules-based-order’ have proved to be futile to address existing and emerging global crisis. While urging for a more equitable world order after 80 years, he reminded that it is incumbent upon all Member States to uphold the sacred principles of sovereign equality, territorial integrity, political independence, non-interference in the domestic affairs, peaceful settlement of disputes, and prohibition of the threat or use of force. Minister Osman further underscored #Eritrea’s unequivocal rejection of any reckless attempts transgressing these principles in pursuit of perceived geopolitical interests as these will lead to unprecedented regional and international destabilization. #UNGA80 #GoFUNCharter #Multilateralism #InternationalLaw #Eritrea
