I had an interesting discussion with a Vietnam veteran today while I was at a local business. A gentleman approached me, and our conversation went like this: Him: "Sir, thank you for your service. I noticed your shirt. Can I ask you some questions about Trump?" Me: "Yes, sir, I'd be happy to talk with you." Him: "What do you think about the names Trump has called us veterans?" Me: "Could you clarify what you're referring to?" Him: "He called us brash names." Me: "Are you talking about the 'suckers and losers' comment?" Him: "Yes, that's it." Me: "That story originated from The Atlantic in 2020, which cited anonymous sources. There’s no evidence like audio or video recordings or any documentation to confirm the comments." Him: "What about him becoming a dictator?" Me: "That was taken out of context. Trump mentioned being a dictator only on the first day to undo Biden's executive orders that reversed his own from his previous administration, not for his entire presidency." Him: "What about 2024?" Me: "Are you referring to voting in 2024?" Him: "No, his plan to undo the entire government." Me: "Oh, you're talking about Project 2025. That's a think tank initiative with ideas for future presidents to consider. It's not Trump's agenda." Him: "What is his agenda then? I heard it was 2025." Me: "Trump's platform is called Agenda 47, which outlines his future policies." Him: "I've never heard of this before. Where can I find it?" Me: "You can visit https://t.co/g7ocHPi53e, where his campaign agenda is shared through various short video clips. You'll find detailed information about his policies there." Him: "I don't vote; I'm a Jehovah's Witness. I don't want to vote and have blood on my hands. Jesus's laws are different from man's laws." Me: "I see from your hat that you're a veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Your service protected our Constitution, and I appreciate that. We all fought to defend rights like voting. Thank you for your service, sir." We also talked a bit about the Veterans Association, although it wasn't particularly noteworthy to this discussion. In the end, the gentleman thanked me for providing information he wasn't aware of. We shook hands, and I asked if what I shared helped him. He responded, "Yes, you gave me information and places to go to read about things I had no idea about. Thank you for taking the time to talk with me." I shook his hand again and wished him a great evening. We're out here providing information to those who are unaware. #VeteransForTrump
