Funny that you should mention that. I just wrote about that topic in today's @DenverGazette and @csgazette: https://t.co/MqiyfmmGoR

@SeanPaige @WhiteHouse What about the Ray Nixon plant in fountain? They are still hell bent on closing that by 2030
Wind and solar failed their final exams. Time to embrace #energyrealism and get back to building the dispatchable power that the big beautiful future will need. The eco-Luddites have lured Colorado down an energy dead end.

Late January's winter weather was a perfect litmus test for purported replacements of fossil fuels.
If a type of “power” or “capacity” cannot reliably contribute to preventing Americans from freezing to death during a week of nationwide cold weather, whatever else it is doing it is absolutely not replacing fossil fuels.
Solar and wind failed that test.
It's gonna get pretty damn cold. You might have to turn up your solar panels all the way to "11."

@GovofCO Jared Polis and other "green energy" panacea-pushers assured us that the "transition" was going to be quick, easy, painless, and affordable.

It's odd that @GovofCO never gets a mention in this piece, even though he is the state's biggest promotor of green energy fantasies, green energy sprawl, green energy siting conflicts, and green energy-related cost hikes. The Land Board that's mishandling this conflict is packed with Polis appointees. But he's always the invisible man when the blowback arrives or the bills come due.
Rural Americans are sick of seeing their real and proverbial backyards become #wind and #solar junkyards, to satisfy the "green energy" pipedreams of politicians and activists who live far away.
Are you HEARING what they're saying, @GovofCO Jared Polis? Stop paving over rural #Colorado with #windandsolar sprawl. https://t.co/QTTEiQ7Gfg

So, let's further strain a shaky "green" grid by overwhelming it with a deluge of new plug-in vehicles. Right, Jared Polis?
