Agriculture, cement, textile and other industries will have to be aligned with green taxonomy. Provinces have to be brought on board, without their involvement, green taxonomy will not be effective or far reaching.

The Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change brought in business stakeholders today @StateBank_Pak to examine the upcoming #greentaxonomy framework for Pakistan. Key recommendations from the committee include taking this alignment of #Sustainability interventions to the provinces for real ownership and future compliance for decarbonising and resilience of economic activities. Also suggest an enhancement in sectoral inclusion for SMEs; a stronger reporting & disclosure regime for businesses and the creation of a toolkit of climate responses needed by different provinces & districts in regional language that will make actions easier to comprehend at the grassroots level, which is where #climate and #water stress is the highest.
