Before 2016, the hashtag #Hasm (#حسم) was exclusively associated with the Saudi Association for Civil and Political Rights (ACPRA). I, and others, used it in every human rights tweet to raise awareness about the association and its legacy. Government-affiliated bots created accounts to relentlessly flood the tag with irrelevant content, sabotaging its purpose.
Then came a devious move, in cooperation with Egyptian intelligence: they linked the name of the movement and the hashtag to a fabricated armed extremist group, likely their own creation, and began flooding the hashtag with videos showing gunmen claiming affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood has asserted that it is a political organization, has no armed wing, and has no connection to this or any similar group.
Once activists ceased using the hashtag due to this smear campaign, that group also stopped posting, and they vanished from the tag entirely. But recently, I and others returned to using the hashtag, and suddenly, on July 4th, just three days ago, that same group resumed posting intensively. This is no coincidence. Anyone can verify that this so-called terrorist group, likely a construct of Egyptian intelligence, had not posted anything before July 4th in recent times.

وما إن توقف النشطاء عن النشر في التاق بسبب ذلك، حتى توقفت هذه الجماعة عن النشر فيه، ولم يعد أحد يسمع أو يرى لهم مقاطع وتغريدات. لكن مؤخرًا، عدت أنا وغيري من النشطاء لتفعيل الهاشتاق، وفجأة، وفي 4 يوليو، أي قبل 3 أيام، عادت هذه الجماعة لتنشر بكثافة في الهاشتاق. وهذا ليس مصادفة، ويمكن لأي أحد أن يتحقق بنفسه من ذلك، حيث لن يجد لهذه الجماعة الإرهابية، والتي غالبًا هي من صنيعة المخابرات المصرية، أي تغريدة قبل 4 يوليو مؤخرًا.
