Check out this great #potd - HMCS PRESERVER (510), at #Halifax dockyard. HMCS PRESERVER was commissioned on August 7th, 1969, in Saint John, New Brunswick. In June 1971, PRESERVER carried out the first-ever replenishment of a hydrofoil at sea, the recipient being HMCS BRAS D'OR.

@LeBrunJames81 @GoldrickJames @JAParker29 @PeterLeavy1 @RoyalCanNavy @Australian_Navy Oops...noted a mistake above. #Willemstad vice Willemshaven in #Curacao vice Aruba...visted both of the Dutch Carribean islands in 2001 with #HMCSPreserver but clearly my memory has become fuzzy over the intervening 19 yrs.

Work is underway to move the historical #HMCSPreserver anchor from the #NavalMuseumHFX to #CFBHalifax Stadacona’s Almon/Gottingen Street entry gate where it will be permanently displayed for all to enjoy. Can’t wait to see the final product!

In Dec 2001 my ship, replenishment oiler #HMCSPreserver, resupplied/refueled 7 ships of 5 nations in 1 day https://t.co/zGnt6nwrcu That's what alliances/partnerships are about, exchanging services. With so many #RCNavy warships operating independently at sea, need foreign support
