2/ My goal is to increase awareness of #aorticdissection and to educate about #thoracicaorticdisease #tad #htaad by telling my story.
I'm posting individual links to my blog posts below as I now write about my third, and hopefully last heart surgery.
After over 16 years of balancing my genetics career with my own genetics journey with #htaad, I elected to step away from genetics and medicine. I spent a year doing other things and wasn't remotely fulfilled. Turns out, in the end, there's no denying... #iamageneticcounselor.
This is what got me through #aorticdissection and 3 heart surgeries.
My ❤️!
My son is now pushing 6'5" so his once upper end of normal aortic root is now VERY normal. My daughter will begin screening in a few years.
