Through the #HanaanoProgramme, @R@RACIDA_Ngo with @Mandera_cgvt department of veterinary is rolling out a 15-day livestock health campaign across Mandera East, Mandera North, Banisa and Kiliwehiri.
Funded by @Irish_Aid through @Concern, the exercise will vaccinate, deworm and treat livestock to safeguard livelihoods and build resilience among pastoral communities.
@RACIDA_Ngo, under #HanaanoProgramme with @Concern through support from @Irish_Aid , trained 33 Community Champions from 13 locations in Mandera including Eymole, Ashabito & Border Point One to strengthen grassroots advocacy, civic participation and #community_led resilience.

In Rhamu, Mandera, Kulmiye Mother-to-Mother Support Group (MtMSG) is redefining farming pathways, transitioning from small-scale production into a resilience-driven livelihood model.
What began with vegetables, maize, cowpeas, and watermelon has expanded into papaya cultivation, deliberately diversifying crops to strengthen household resilience, improve food security, and enhance dietary diversity.
This is more than production; it’s a strategic shift toward sustainable income and improved nutrition outcomes.
Through the Hanaano Programme implemented by @RACIDA_Ngo in partnership with @Concern and funded by @Irish_Aid , MtMSGs are proving to be high-impact platforms, equipping women with the skills, knowledge, and agency to move from subsistence to sustainable livelihoods.

RACIDA led @IGADHealthS, @Concern #HanaanoProgramme partners & government reps from Kenya, Ethiopia & Somalia for a field visit showcasing community savings & loans groups.
#VSLA models are advancing grassroots financial inclusion, but gaps remain in access to credit & formal financial linkages.
The visit also highlighted fuel-efficient stove enterprises, where 33 participants are driving income generation and reinvesting through VSLAs, strengthening the livelihoods–finance nexus.

🚀 Empowering Communities through Market-Based Approaches to Fuel-Efficient Stoves (FES)!
RACIDA in collaboration with @Concern and funded by @Irish_Aid through the #HanaanoProgramme, has kicked off the first phase of a training program for 33 participants from Mother-to-Mother Support Groups #MtMSGs and out-of-school youth groups.
This training focuses on the construction of FES, equipping participants with the skills to build their own stoves and explore market-based solutions for improved access to FES as an Income Generating Activity (IGA).
This initiative, part of the Preventing Wasting in the Mandera Triangle Project, plays a crucial role in combating malnutrition by reducing the workload for mothers/caregivers. By using FES, mothers/caregivers can cut down time for firewood collection, allowing them more time to focus on preparing nutritious meals and childcare. This not only conserves the environment but also promotes better nutrition outcomes for the entire household.
