The #HiCIBaS balloon with an #AdaptiveOptics system onboard as well as a #coronagraph is now flying (#LaHaut) and climbing. It’s goal is to test key #HighContrast #Imaging technologies from an almost #space-like environment and at minor cost. It’s risky & challenging but worth it
The launch of HiCIBaS, first balloon telescope with an AO system to observe from the stratosphere, can be watched here. The instrument is now at 10 km altitude and still climbing. It will take it 2-4h to reach the 30-40 km altitude. I will keep you posted. https://t.co/K4Ij7sJyRC
