🔄 Intel confirms the return of #HyperThreading in future processors. Server CPUs will adopt it first, but signs point to its reappearance in consumer P-cores as well. Expect stronger multitasking and improved performance across the board.
By late 2025, Panther Lake will launch on the cutting-edge 18A process. A year later, Nova Lake arrives with up to 52 cores—16 performance and 36 efficiency—marking a major leap in Intel's hybrid architecture strategy.
Next-gen integrated graphics based on Xe will also be part of the package 🎮 Together with Hyper-Threading, these upgrades aim to redefine performance standards for mobile and desktop platforms.

Let me reiterate that the concern on this topic is valued, and it has merit, however my point is, there are underlining factors that are being omitted due to emotional bias and uninformed conclusions, mine included.
#GOAL was an engine released almost 23 years ago, in 2002, which was 5 years before the #Uncharted series. This evolved into the #NaughtyDog engine. The @Naughty_Dog engine is a proprietary engine, that the Naughty Dogs have been cultivating and working with since at least 2002, so if one has a game that currently utilizes the same engine, with the same team working on it, assets can be reused and repurposed, and not have to be made from the ground up, meaning Uncharted fundamentally took 5 years to make, causing the development for the sequels to be pushed out in a more rapid succession. Uncharted 2, 3, and 4 are all standalone dlc, that took 2 to 3 years to make, and cost 60 dollars, so the Uncharted series has taken up to 11 to 14 years to create, or 2.75 to 3.5+ years on average, and costs roughly 240 dollars to the consumer, yet this is still only a variable reference point of revision, and from my point of view pure conjecture.
I’d find it hard to believe this isn’t why games such as @CallofDuty can keep up with their current speed of distribution pace, as I remember hearing somewhere this is how #SquareSoft, now @SquareEnix, was capable of working on and launching #FinalFantasy 7, 8, 9, and 10, in roughly the same time frame. The reference point would be Electronic Gaming Monthly June 2000 issue, @EGMNOW, that features #FinalFantasyIX on the cover. I could be a little off with the reference point, and if so I apologize.
Another example would be the comparison between #ResidentEvil 2 and 3 remakes, where many of the same assets can be interchanged, yet the length of the content is questionable for a full games value, creating emotional bias, which stems from objective concerns.
If one then couple this with advancing technologies, with things like #raytracing, #pssr, and #integratedhardware that bypasses data decompression bottlenecks, one is left with a product inevitably taking longer, as gaming parameters have never been more demanding and strenuous then they currently are, and this will only level off, or rise in the future, and if we dive deeper, one also has the factor that there are still people unfamiliar with its process that stalls and distorts development, so there are many things effecting the underlining root cause, that are being overlooked, from my opinionatedly objective Q/A perspective, nothing more.
If one has a constantly changing work force, that varies in both experience and creative direction, isn’t production going to stagnate at best and stall at worse?

I look forward to the sequel of the Uncharted movie, it was an interesting revisioning of the story, that was captivating and immersive to experience, great job to those involved in making the imagination possible.

I wouldn’t say this is entirely accurate, however the fact it happened is concerning, this much is true. @Microsoft closed down @TheInitiative and has canceled the current build for #PerfectDark reboot, that is if social media is to be believed, however if they put another team on it, say @RareLtd, then it can still happen.
The main question would be how much of the current build would Rare utilize, and how much would they scrap. One can look @SquareEnix’s @FinalFantasy as an example of what happens when direction of a build is contested and needs to be rebuilt an excessive amount of times. #FinalFantasyXV
I am finding it hard to believe that everyone from The Initiative was let go, and not just moved to a different development team, and could be brought in as a liaison to help with its direction.
I’m interested to see where Microsoft will go from here with the #StopKillingGames movement being in its current state. I would hope that the #SKG initiative will cause an action, so the time and funding spent on what The Initiative has made so far doesn’t go to waste. #ConsoleWars, The fact remains that Steam is now part of it, and @valvesoftware was siphoning funding for 15 years from other publishers, causing the games to go up in price faster than what the community expected it to.
This isn’t a bad thing, but to complain about the cost going up, while wanting the conventions of @Steam, is a poor economical outlook, and extremely shortsighted. There is no such thing as a free meal. One must pay for convenience, and now that the steam deck is @OnDeck, those payments have payed off.
Valve has officially become the new @Sega, where instead of switching from console to developer like SEGA, it switched from developer to console.
I remember seeing something, where @Sony and Microsoft were going to work together to create an optimized digital age for gaming, I hope Nintendo and Valve are also in agreement, if so the future of gaming is bright indeed.
