This talk was a turning point, and I for one am grateful for @dtkung's courage. He could have given a standard plenary talk about how great #IBLMath is and been showered with praise. Instead, he made the difficult choice and challenged us to be better than we are. Thank you!

@kenandoesmath @sbagley Our Happy Hour was almost entirely dedicated to #BlackLivesMatter but it is shocking how little of our talks addressed equitable assessment. Is that link researched yet? Some talk of ungrading @ProfNoodlearms . #IBLmath pedagogy definitely makes classrooms equitable.

One strategy for equitable discussion and facilitation after student presentation: mandatory think time before taking qs. It takes away the urgency, gives think time, allows for corrections to qs, makes sure it serves the audience (credit @tuckeve, HT @acaguy) #synergy #iblmath

Thought inspired by the workshop on workshops: one value of #IBLMath is the transferable skills like communication. I wonder if we should consider some workshops with those who are experts in teaching those skills to help us provide support. #NIBLT2019

@PinemanorM Having only read the abstract, I have a couple of thoughts. First - there is a question of how much guidance for a given population. Most of my #IBLMath course materials for #QuantitativeReasoning involve quite a bit of guidance with a few open ended, low stakes lessons. /1
