In conclusion, our preliminary data have shown that IBUS-SAS presents an optimal performance in predicting endoscopic activity not only in patients with CD but also with UC. Therefore, the use of IBUS-SAS in centers with expertise in IUS can be suggested for disease monitoring of both CD and UC. Additional and larger cohorts of patients with UC scored with IBUS-SAS are needed to confirm our exploratory cut-offs of disease activity.
