IFB Agro Industries is a business built on turning agricultural waste and seasonal seafood into steady industrial cash flows - a distillery that runs on damaged grain and a shrimp-export operation that ships from eastern India to tables across the world. Founded in 1982 by the technocrat-industrialist Bijon Nag, the company spent its first fourteen years as a pure alcohol play in West Bengal before a 1996 move into marine processing gave it a second, counter-cyclical leg to stand on. The recurring pattern is visible across both engines: take a locally abundant but underused raw material, apply in-house process engineering to extract every usable molecule from it, and sell the output into markets where price is everything - then repeat the formula in a new geography or a new product when the old one gets crowded.
