The cheating in this case involved “prior unauthorized access to secure exam content.”
This isn’t the usual low-quality “USMLE recalls” - and instead involves screenshots/photos of real questions, taken at test centers by proctors (or after the proctors were paid to look away).
Definitely many other countries are involved but had to start somewhere. It would be interesting to see the solution they come up with. Be more frequent/ aggressive with changing the pool ? What i fear is the solution they are going to come up 1/

Events in Nepal are a disaster for International Medical Education. We detected a marked excess in extremely &high score from Nepal last year & watching. Of the scores above 270 a huge amount were from one country Nepal.
This truly damaged qualified people with lowere scores.

Couldn’t agree more. Exposing the predators is important but more important is for the good people to come forward and lend a hand.
Trust me it is not difficult. All you have to ask your work place if you can host a couple med students as observers.

All debate about IMGs, their vulnerabilities and the possible exploitation should also highlight that there is a lack or opportunity that provides room for this exploitation to happen. When there is a huge focus on publications and USCE without actually creating opportunity

How about i tell you about a Rheumatologist in Chi town, who use IMGs to run his private practice from 7-5, make em work like resident, and when they ask for LOR, his response is work another month and then we will see.
