The day I started driving people for a living, I thought everyone who had ever doubted me had finally been proven right.
I had gone from leading regional programmes, speaking at international forums, and advising organisations... to wondering whether this was all I was ever going to be.
I felt embarrassed.
I felt like I had failed.
I questioned everything I thought I knew about myself.
But here's what I couldn't see then: The steering wheel wasn't the end of my story. It was the beginning of it.
Every passenger I picked up revealed a pattern. Women asking if I knew another female driver. Parents looking for someone they could trust. Companies searching for safer transport options.
What I thought was survival was actually research.
What felt like failure became the foundation of Uganda's first women-centred mobility enterprise (@IngoFemaleT).
This article exists because one of my LinkedIn articles led to a conversation which led Build with Her Magazine to invite me to tell the full story.
If you're in a season where your career doesn't look like what you imagined, don't be too quick to call it failure. Sometimes life isn't taking you backwards.
It's taking you somewhere your resume never could.
