The #IRASFam earlier attended the 14th IMF-Japan High-Level Tax Conference in Tokyo alongside colleagues from the Ministry of Finance, connecting with tax professionals from across the region.
Singapore was represented by IRAS and MOF, including IRAS Assistant Commissioner of Infocomm Division Yap Mia Kai, IRAS Director of Goods and Services Tax Division Lim Siew Gim, MOF Deputy Director of Tax Policy Wendy Leo, and MOF Associate of Tax Policy (Tax Strategy) Yeo Wei Quan.
These are some key highlights from our participation:
🎯 We presented Singapore’s tax incentive design considerations and administration approach, with Wendy Leo as one of the panellists for the session on international taxation;
💬 Siew Gim chaired the session on VAT policy and administration issues, discussing the latest developments in VAT designs across Asia and addressing digital economy challenges;
🤝 We engaged in dynamic roundtable discussions on collaboration between tax administrators and policymakers from across the region.
We're proud to represent Singapore as regular contributors to this forum, learning alongside our regional counterparts.
