This year, IRAS and the Inland Revenue Recreational Club (IRRC) were pleased to host the annual MOF Family Active Day, bringing together colleagues from across the MOF Family, including the Ministry of Finance (MOF), Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), Accountant-General's Department (AGD), Singapore Customs, Tote Board and VITAL.

The event was opened by Permanent Secretary (Finance), Mr Lai Chung Han, who spoke about the importance of building connections across agencies and fostering a stronger sense of One MOF Family. He shared that events such as the MOF Family Active Day provide valuable opportunities for colleagues to strengthen relationships while embracing active and healthy lifestyles.

At the inaugural Singapore Tax Congress 2026 organised by the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP), IRAS joined tax professionals and business leaders to discuss key developments shaping the future of tax.

As Guest of Honour, IRAS Commissioner Ow Fook Chuen delivered the opening speech, highlighting the importance of a strong and trusted tax ecosystem in supporting Singapore's competitiveness, fiscal sustainability and public trust, in light of developments such as the Global Minimum Tax, InvoiceNow and artificial intelligence (AI). He reaffirmed IRAS' commitment to partnering SCTP to strengthen compliance, enhance tax administration and support businesses and taxpayers.

Our panellists Assistant Commissioner Evelyn Lio, Assistant Commissioner Robin Ng, and Director Xu Dingjiao also shared insights on topics ranging from tax policy and digital transformation to GST risk management.

🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 IRAS welcomed delegates from the Department of Taxation of Viet Nam (DT) for a two-day study visit on digital tax transformation. Beyond digitalisation, both tax administrations also exchanged insights on compliance management, data governance and technology architecture.

This exchange strengthened our partnership with Vietnam’s tax administration to provide greater tax certainty for investors and reinforced the longstanding ties between our two countries.

Last Friday, the #IRASFam joined Tax Academy of Singapore (TA) in celebrating its 20th anniversary at a dinner reception, held at TA’s brand-new home on Level 1 of Revenue House 🎉

IRAS Commissioner Ow Fook Chuen joined TA CEO and IRAS Deputy Commissioner Dennis Lui and TA Board Chairman Tham Sai Choy in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially usher in the new space. He also participated in a commemorative hand-casting ceremony alongside Chairman Tham, a lasting symbol of the partnership that has shaped tax education in Singapore🤝

Since Tax Academy's founding, IRAS has played a central role in nurturing it into the region's leading institution for tax learning and development. Over the past two decades, Tax Academy has grown from strength to strength, equipping tax professionals with the knowledge and skills to navigate an ever-evolving landscape📚💡
