Point: if you don’t come on camera, don’t give much in the statement, then rely on backgrounders/off-the-record that can’t be reported—don’t complain about the story and expect to be taken seriously by me. #IWorkForTheViewer 4/4
Thanks,Erin. As a journalist, I feel strongly that I work for the viewer. And I appreciate notes like these as much as any award. @erinislearning

@ConsumerSOS Thank you so much for your integrity and reporting. I appreciate your voice more than any others and especially in these difficult dark times where it looks like media is becoming owned by corporate/oligarchs, your authenticity is a lifeline.
I believe as a TV journalist #IWorkForTheViewer. When a police inspector running the scene told me he doesn’t have time to talk to us/the public in 4.4 hours —I told him delegate. Tell us what you can. Or delegate a deputy. That’s transparency.
That’s a wrap! With thanks to cameraman Pat Capati and editor Matt Lowe Friday and to everybody on our news team this year. And my gratitude to our TV and online audiences.
Off Saturday on an adventure in the Middle East. Back in April. #IWorkForTheViewer
Generating action: after our @globalnewsto report, the developer’s contractor shot down noisy dirty generator after hours. I went back and checked in person. Story excerpt here, full story on link. #Toronto #IWorkForTheViewer https://t.co/jCl56AB6WC
NEW REPORT Reno gone wrong, why references aren’t always enough.
Toronto-based contractor takes $82K, disappears without doing the work (news camera/editor @tylerthornley ) #IWorkForTheViewer https://t.co/MGDx18O2Wy
It took some time and effort but we tracked down contractor Todd Miller. His Toronto customer says Miller received $82,000 in deposits but didn’t provide any of the agreed work for that money. The TV story at 6. @globalnewsto #IWorkForTheViewer
#ConsumerSOS warning: the contractor had references, he had previously done good work. Then he made off with $82,000 in deposits leaving a Toronto man and his partner paying much more to get the work finished. I spent several days tracking down Todd Miller. Story Thursday. 👇
Thanks, Phil Rehel for the kind words. And I’m so glad Air Canada gave you back the money in a credit as we reported this story. #IWorkForTheViewer

Grandparent scam victim speaks out to Global News then gets money back #IWorkForTheViewer https://t.co/cuR03GvGHp
Thanks to @torontolife for this.
There were many excellent Canadian journalists covering the convoy; it was a privilege to report this important story to our audience.
Credit to the whole Global News team especially our trusted cameraman @capati_patrick. #IWorkForTheViewer
He's long been one of the most influential people in our @GlobalNews newsroom, and now, according to @TorontoLife, Sean O'Shea (aka @ConsumerSOS) is one of the most influential people in Toronto. Congrats on the honour Sean!
Like a kidnapper’s call: scammers target Canadian seniors with grandchildren. Criminals rob their money, steal their self-confidence. One woman taken for $10k tells me her story—families should talk about it to protect each other. FRIDAY. @globalnewsto #IWorkForTheViewer
Nearly blind, her phone cut off mistakenly by Rogers for about 9 days, including 911, Joan has her lifeline back. What went wrong and why didn’t Rogers get her re-connected sooner (maybe a loaner) when they gave away her line? Thursday at 5:30/6. @globalnewsto #IWorkForTheViewer
UPCOMING She paid all her bills but this nearly blind GTA senior was left phone-less by Rogers for more than a week. Joan’s life-line was cut off through no fault of her own. A warning for others. Story @globalnewsto 5:30/6 Thursday. #IWorkForTheViewer

If you have a cottage or own any property beware making a call to file a claim: you too could have your insurance cancelled. It happened to the Sisam family. The Chubb president emailed to apologize for the “inconvenience”. Preview here. Full story linked. #IWorkFortheViewer

Two smiling women just stopped me on Queen Street West. They said they follow me on Twitter, appreciate my work and can’t believe how much abuse I (occasionally) get in my job. Thanks for saying hello—and I hope you both see this. 👏#IWorkFortheViewer
I also find this @TorontoPearson policy outrageous and wrong. @joe_warmington and I were chasing this when the Mississauga barricade story happened. The press, on behalf of viewers-readers, won’t accept this. #IWorkForTheViewer #cdnpoli https://t.co/9MCBHK77lW
Liz Scanlon tweeted me this morning. I have her story tonight. Her mom, pushed in a wheelchair by an @AirCanada employee at @TorontoPearson, had her leg rammed into a metal detector. Seven stitches. Then her walker didn’t arrive in Lisbon. We are on it. #IWorkFortheViewer
This morning, I received a text from my mom that none of their luggage showed up. So. My 80 and 79 yo parents are in Lisbon, without my mom’s mobility devices, likely not having had any sleep for 48 hrs at this point.
Florence Steele says her husband’s $12,000 life insurance policy with ivari should be paid out. Her husband, Harold, died in April. The company says the form wasn’t filled out accurately. Story here. #IWorkForTheViewer https://t.co/urxQTv0Eke
