My favorite thing is when the singers run sectionals and learn notes and rhythms totally on their own. And this? This was almost that. 😉 #independentmusicianship #almostindependentmusicianship #ipromiseihelped

Solfège (do re mi…a system singers use to learn notes) is our love language. A lovely and in-real-time example of the usefulness of solfège in learning new music. Because #contentforchoir and #independentmusicianship @mineolahs #mineolaproud

Treble Chorus is trying something new! We’re learning ukulele as a way to increase independence and literacy-you might even see some of these singers accompanying the concert! We’re arranging a song for ourselves bc #ContentForChoir and #IndependentMusicianship @MineolaFineArts

I spy @MrsHDvorak in the front row of the @eVocoVoiceLI concert! “Feel Your Strength” is fitting text for a full time working/music-ing mama (Joyce Sidman/Jocelyn Hagen). #IndependentMusicianship + #lifelonglearning = a lifetime of participation in the arts #MineolaProud

The A Cappella singers created a list of ways to practice when I am working w/a different section (traditional sectionals are tough-who wants to crowd into a tiny practice room these days?). I ❤️ this: so much of it is doable by developing musicians. #independentmusicianship
