This is exactly why I have been so vocal about the need for #InterimMetrics to be included in the @OPPDCares decarbonization planning. Anything over the next few decades can be considered aligned with #NetZero2050 policy as long as you assume a sharp enough decline at the end.

Net-zero targets are all well and good. But how countries get there matters a lot. It's the area under the curve that matters for warming. Delay emissions cuts and you not only make net-zero less likely, you also make climate change worse along the way.

@craigmoody #InterimMetrics been living rent free in my head for the past few years. I’m very interested to have further conversations about “What” outcome the Boards want to see accomplished, and then to work with staff on “How” to see that carried out.

I'm leading policy work at @OPPDCares for #InterimMetrics on carbon reduction as we continue decarbonization of all operations. The details in the Inflation Reduction Act from @JesseJenkins are really important, specifically targeting 75% reduction in the power sector by 2032.

.@LP2LP2VC #InterimMetrics aren't great and they can be gamed - but we need to have them. Consistent methodology is best way to build trust.
