"By increasing the income eligibility threshold, #Intro1104 will ensure that the vast majority of vulnerable NYers facing eviction will have a powerful legal ally in their fight to level the playing field+stay in their home"—@NYCBarAssn in their report: https://t.co/ycNzt4L7a1
Thank you @FCabreraNY for signing on to #Intro1104 + #Intro1529 to publicly support our bills to #ExpandRTC! Thank you for showing that ALL tenants facing #eviction should have + use their right to a lawyer to defend their homes! https://t.co/3cnfKEbQvL

Great piece by @SadefAKully at @CityLimitsNews! Now, the city should continue to lead the nation-@NYCMayor, @NYCSpeakerCoJo, & @NYCCouncil, we need you to pass #Intro1104 & #Intro 1529 to ensure all tenants have and use this right to defend their home! https://t.co/5682cNRcFj
District 2 is one of the NYC communities hit hardest by gentrification. I'm proud to support the expansion of #RightToCounsel with #Intro1529 and #Intro1104.

Flandersia Jones, RN, spoke out in favor of @NYCCouncil #Intro1104 "Right to Counsel” law, which provides low-income tenants with lawyers in eviction cases. Housing is a social determinant of health—and #HousingIsAHumanRight!

After more than 7 hours of testimony, close to 80 people testified in support of @NYCCouncil @NYCSpeakerCoJo @NYCMayor passing #Intro1529 + #intro1104 to #ExpandRTC! Thanks to our bill sponsors @MarkLevineNYC + @Vanessalgibson for championing #RightToCounsel!

Got the chance to testify at today's City Council Hearing in support of @RTCNYC for passage of #Intro1529 and #Intro1104 to #ExpandRTC. Inspired by the work tenants, organizers, and community organizations are doing daily to make New York City eviction free.
"Unstable housing is the single strongest predictor of poor health outcomes for those living w/ HIV"-@hworksunion here at the #ExpandRTC hearing urging @NYCMayor, @NYCSpeakerCoJo and @NYCCouncil to pass #Intro1529 and #Intro1104.

#Intro1104 would double #RightToCounsel's income eligibility level from 200% of the federal poverty level to 400%. Approximately 56,000-71,000 households in this income range are sued in housing court each year. #ExpandRTC
#Intro1104 would double #RightToCounsel’s income eligibility level + expand the law to cover all eviction cases. Nearly all tenants facing an eviction would have the right to a lawyer, which greatly increases their chances of staying in their homes. It's time to #ExpandRTC!
31% of tenants in court make above RTC’s income eligibility level, including a single NYer working full-time + making the $15 min. wage. These tenants would not be able to afford a lawyer if faced w/ eviction. #ExpandRTC +pass #Intro1104 so all tenants in need have RTC!
Evictions across NYC have declined 31% since 2013, because tenants had access to Right To Council lawyers. @NYCMayor @NYCSpeakerCoJo @NYCCouncil must expand #expandRTC by passing #intro1104 and #into1529 now!
31% of tenants in court make above RTCs income eligibility level, including a single NYer working full time + making the $15 min. wage. These tenants would NOT be able to afford a lawyer w/eviction. #EpandRTC + pass #intro1104 so all tenants in need have RTC!
Thank you to Raun from @LSNYCnews for supporting the call to #ExpandRTC! Passing both of our bills #intro1529 and #intro1104 are obvious improvements to the #righttocounsel!
The human cost of evictions is traumatizing and we cannot wait to expand Right to Counsel. There are too many working families living in the shadows of darkness facing eviction with no legal representation. The time to expand #RTC and support #PowerToOrganize is now. #ExpandRTC

@NYCCouncil @NYCMayor @RTCNYC @Vanessalgibson @MarkLevineNYC @CASAbronx @NYCSpeakerCoJo Thank you to Council Members @MarkLevineNYC & @Vanessalgibson who have been championing #RightToCounsel from the start. Now their bills #Intro1104 & #Intro1529 will #ExpandRTC so we can further stop the eviction crisis and keep New Yorkers in their homes!

We’re here at today’s #RightToCounsel 2.0 hearing to ask @NYCCouncil & @NYCMayor to pass #Intro1104 & #Intro1529 to ensure everyone facing eviction has the right to a lawyer in housing court. It’s time to #ExpandRTC!

Thrilled to see the outpouring of support for #Intro1104 and #Intro1529 at today’s hearing. I wholeheartedly support the bills proposed by @MarkLevineNYC and @Vanessalgibson to #ExpandRTC and ensure the critically important #RightToCounsel protections reach all tenants in need!
