@PWGTennant Thanks for a great session Peter @PWGTennant . I have many questions, but this slide left me confused. If we “cannot” prove an effect is causal, why do we say it is (do say)? Am I confusing effect and estimate or estimand or… ? #IntroToDAGs
Stop doing univariate screening of "potential confounders", and select them into your model based on p-value cutoffs. There are better methods, such as DAGs. Great advice from @PWGTennant! #IntroToDAGs
#IntroToDAGs I'm more curious about Causal Inference that I was. I'm a DOE/RCT snob, but @PWGTennant makes a great point about the need for causal research when we can't design a randomized experiment. Therefore, we should get better at it .. rather than complain about it (me).
