‼️This is a simple directional Iron Fly ( my running trade based on 5L as BASE capital )& I want to highlight something many traders misunderstand about Iron Flies & PoP (Probability of Profit): 1️⃣ PoP on an Iron Fly looks very low on paper. But the real edge comes from capturing the best part of the IV crush + underlying staying near the zone, not from holding till expiry. When the market moves favourably & IV drops, the payoff (blue line) improves sharply - often giving a clean, early exit. 2️⃣ The idea is not to chase max profit. The idea is to catch the optimum profit window without any adjustments, when the structure is working at its best. 3️⃣ PoP should be viewed before expiry, not at expiry. For example, in this current trade, if Monday’s opening is anywhere between 25850 & 26140 the position isn’t in loss & would be in decent prft if open somewhere near 26k That’s far more meaningful than the textbook PoP at expiry. Iron Flies reward patience, timing, & understanding of how price + IV interact, not blind expiry-day holding. ✅The overnight spread trade didn’t pose any threat even during opening hours, thanks to a decent volatility crush after the initial spike, while Nifty gradually recovered. I’ll now manage it with a system stop-loss.
