Today in #IslamicTexts @SBTS we examine how early Abbasid Caliphs might've influenced the writing of #Islamic history: How did they portray their Umayyad rivals negatively? To what extent they might have created a specific image of #Muhammad to fit their orthodoxy? @Graham_School
Today we had a terrific class @SBTS introducing my students to some early Muslim historical sources (e.g. maghazi, sira).
