Reflecting on @rpondiscio’s powerful talk on curriculum at #researchEDG last week and how it’s just not sustainable in the current climate for teachers to be curriculum designers, instructors and assessors.
All three require very different expertise and need specific solutions. There is a strong case to be made that the à la carte approach to curriculum design that has been the norm has not worked and serious thinking on curriculum is required.

@conorsmurf @doogarry @ciaraquill There is so much that is contentious in the article. Much of it reads like the JC Framework and, to be frank, the near-propaganda put out by the @NCCA regarding the #jcreform.
The #jcredorm has pluses but on balance, it is a clear and indefensible shift away from learning. 1/n
Those who do not know geography are doomed to be prisoners of it.

@Bruce_NextLevel @dnleslie @daisychristo Teachers pointed this out at the launch of CfE. However, our voices were not heard. This is what happens when people who are detached from the reality of teaching a curriculum get to make the big decisions.
I believe they are all now retired on a big pension- surprise, surprise!
"Skills vs knowledge" is one of the most significant debates in education.
Yesterday, one of the creators of a flagship skills-based curriculum admitted it's not possible to teach skills without knowledge.
