Figs just about built now for my WWI scene for #JFFWWI
2 of them have had new arms as the kit ones weren’t working out once the weapons are in place-gas mask pouches are too bulky. First brown colour on now
At some point I need to add straps to the mask pouches.
Groundwork next.
Eduard
Scale : 1-48
Model: D.VII

It’s complete!! Overall happy with it, kit is a profipack so lots of extras included PE , Masks, 6 scheme/Variant options, full set lozenge decals. The fit is excellent my inexperience with WWI plane’s caused problems a lot learned
Decided to start the figures for the WWI scene #JFFWWI that I’m building whilst I wait to gather garden dirt for the groundwork. Too much rain atm, so on with these… having to alter the arm positions as I’ve got to get the gas mask pouches on the front of the bodies yet. 😬
Fitting the headlights has been an absolute nightmare, but fitted they are. #JFFWWI
Roden Type B Omnibus with some Airfix passengers boarding for the journey to the front line. #JFFWWI
Crew in place and steering wheel fitted. Just about ready for final assembly. #JFFWWI

I just cain't get happy with my pilot. The more I shade, the worse he looks. Limitations of scale and an ancient tooling, I suppose. A guy can order resin replacements and wait, but I just went ahead and stuck him in anyway.
I did add cocking handles to the guns. They will be installed presently.
Crossing the finish line is coming right up!
I also built me a big pot of Trainwreck Chili for this weekend. This is an autumnal tradition at our place.
Cheers!
Not at all in their intended position on the limber, my Royal Horse Artillery guys actually look completely at home in the Type B bus. #JFFWWI
My Airfix figures are good but rather showing their age, and given the scale, I’ve decided not to sweat over the painting too much. I think the overall impression should still be pretty good. #JFFWWI
Chassis and body now joined. Some alignment issues, but managed to straighten everything out in the end. #JFFWWI
The Airspeed Indicator (ASI) on the D.VII was placed outside of the cockpit on the outer strut 4 cups would spin and give the pilot speed reading from the dial

Warped and out of alignment. This thing would never fly😅

For the brass work I’ve gone for a little less bling with The Army Painter’s ‘True Brass’. The leather colour came with my infantry paint set. Did I mention how small this is? #JFFWWI
Filled in the groundwork up to the borders. Still needs a bit of tidying up yet. Also working on the duck boards. If it ever stops raining outside, I’ll collect some garden earth so that I can get started on the groundwork 😀 #JFFWWI
@nics_kitz Use the hashtag #JFFWWI with your build updates if you’re starting it, runs until 30/12 be good to include it in the GB if you want , details on the community pinned post 👍
Another candidate for the box to model size ratio competition. #JFFWWI
