June 17, 1970 - The @trailblazers traded for a player they tried to acquire in the expansion draft. The #Blazers traded forward #JerryChambers to the @ATLHawks for forward #GaryGregor. #Portland and #Atlanta were happy with the deal, as was Gregor, but Chambers was not too happy. Chambers, who averaged 14 minutes in his two seasons in the @NBA, feels he won't get the playing time with the #Hawks that he would have with Portland. "I can see it right now, 15 minutes a game." said Chambers. "If I hit two baskets in a row, it might be 20 minutes. And if I miss two in a row, it might be 10 minutes." Gregor on the other hand was elated to be coming to Portland, adding, "It looks like a good opportunity for me because Portland doesn't appeared to be over-stocked in with forward." Chambers has a footnote in @NBAHistory as he was one of the three players traded by the @Lakers to the @sixers for #WiltChamberlain in 1968. July 9 1968 - #WiltChamberlain was traded from the @sixers to the @Lakers for #ArchieClark, #DarralImhoff, and #JerryChambers. I saw this post on @facebook and thought, that's weird. All 3 of the players have a connection to the @trailblazers so I had to tell you all how. Imhoff finished his 11-year @NBA career with the 1971/72 #Blazers team. Chambers was selected by the Blazers in the expansion draft in 1970, but was traded 5 weeks later. Clark is a little more interesting to explain as it is part of the #TradeTree. When Clark was with the @SeattleSonics in 1975, he was traded to the @DetroitPistons for a 1978 1st round draft pick. The Sonics eventually traded that pick to #Portland in 1977 for #WallyWalker, who then used the pick to select #RonBrewer. Yep ... sometimes I'm just like #GusPortokalos #RipCity
