If they only knew: Some days in #clinic, we #primarycare types get a pleasant surprise when our #patients take care of us-through a kind word, gesture, or check in. This makes the work #joyful and the relationship, richer. #graphicmedicine #joyofpractice #pediatrics

Yesterday afternoon @NYP_FamMed #joyofpractice at Farrell Health Center when a patient I'm seeing for the first time mentions that I am her daughter's PCP, was her grand daughter's prenatal care doctor, and took care of her great grand daughter when she was an infant.

Or in the words of @donberwick let’s reconsider the “stupid rules”, rules that are on the books that are not justified bby clinical evidence or actual regulatory requirements. #joyofpractice #quadrupleaim https://t.co/FTJHUlvcCq

Examples of policies that reduce admin burden: 1. CPOE no longer required by Medicare EHR incentive program and 2. Faculty no longer need to re-document medical student documentation in order to count for billing. https://t.co/BhtQMpfPh2 and https://t.co/mN0hRb3wZr https://t.co/FTaeD801IE

I saw a new patient this week, I had time to get to know her, our psychologist was ready to help with stressful job, nutritionist with desire to eat better, pharmacist with meds. She and I will manage her health for next 10-20 years! #JoyofPractice #PCMH @ACPinternists
