I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident on 16 Northerners in Oromi, Edo State.
This heinous act is utterly condemnable, tragic and barbaric. Appropriate action needs to be taken to ensure justice and to prevent such horrific incidents from happening again. #JusticeFor16
no human deserved to die in such a horrific way. Their only crime was to go out to look for daily bread to sustain self and family. 32 eyes shut undeservingly. Northerners are not threat to any Southern society, we are normal people who are not lazy to stay at home.

Sixteen Northerners were traveling from Port Harcourt to Kano for Sallah celebrations. They had their matches and Dane guns loaded in a lorry. Upon reaching Uromi, they were stopped by local vigilantes. When the weapons were discovered, chaos erupted.

16 Hausa travelers brutally killed and burned in Edo State after being falsely accused of kidnapping and yet, everywhere is silent.
If this had happened in Kano, there would be outrage everywhere.

“The failure to hold those responsible for this atrocity fully accountable will have severe consequences. It will be a stain on your office, and a deep betrayal of the trust placed in you to protect all Nigerians. It would be a particularly grievous injustice if, under the watch of a National Security Adviser from the North, the lives of 16 Northerners are not given due regard and their killers are not brought to justice.”
“We will ensure that the Nigerian people, particularly in the North, are made fully aware of the outcome of this matter. These are the kinds of actions that will be weighed heavily when considering future leadership.”
“We are prepared to pursue all available legal avenues to seek justice for the victims. This will include taking legal action, if necessary, against the Edo State Government, the Local Government, the Nigerian Police Force, your esteemed office, and even the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from the lowest court possible in Nigeria all the way to the International Criminal Court at The Hague.

I trust that you will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.
