Nothing but pain and tragedy come from this kind of absolute maniacal ignorance, cruelty, abuse and injustice. Just the saddest of times, the worst of human instincts. #JusticeForKilo and FOR THEM ALL.
Statement on the unjust savage death of #XLBully KILO....
From Sammy Wilkinson #UK: #JusticeForKilo
Let's end the ridiculous rumours going around about me.
No I'm not on holiday, no I haven't used the GoFundMe for a hair transplant and no I haven't stolen ยฃ50,000 in donations.
I've been near enough housebound, my heart breaking over what they did to Kilo, I've come off social media because I need time to get my head back together.
Secondly, I have had to watch people who I thought were my friends turn on me like a pack of wolves, spreading awful rumours about me and tearing chunks out of me, the same people who I've paid fuel to, done transport runs for and helped them rehome dogs when they've asked me for help, all whilst trying to process the events of what occurred the other day.
Finally I will say the following about what happened and then I'm logging out because I can't mentally cope anymore.
Six shots.
That's how many times firearms officers shot an injured, exhausted, terrified dog.
Below is a picture of the "mauling" one of the people trying to separate the two fighting dogs received.
The other dog received minor injuries and was discharged from the vets after 30 minutes and given paracetamol.
Kilo was on the lead when an off lead dog approached him, the owner was warned several times that Kilo had not spent much time around other dogs, but "it's ok because my dog's friendly". They had a scuffle and were promptly separated. One of the neighbours had witnessed it and called the police.
When police arrived they hooked an exhausted, wounded Kilo with a catchpole, marched him away from the area, ordered everyone to stand back, slowly counted to 10 and shot him. After his screams echoed out, they shot him again, and again.
He wasn't a "devil dog", his name was Kilo, his crime? Being an XL Bully.
