Today we began #KIPAwarenessWeek to raise awareness of kids with incarcerated parents worldwide, the ripple effects of parental incarceration & the need to support the innocent children left behind. #Nochildleftbehind
Not only do kids experience the trauma of parental incarceration, they are also forced to endure the judgment, stigma & isolation that ensues. Itโs time this reality changes for the innocent kids left behind. #KIPAwarenessWeek #KIPDeserveBetter #Breakthecycle #ittakesavillage

For the 7th day of #KIPAwarenessWeek the focus is on the family. One of the most difficult challenges a family faces is when a member is removed temporarily or permanently. The caregivers of KIPs need support with the child/children while also receiving support for themselves!
On Day 6 of #KIPAwarenessWeek, We must break this transfer of stigma to ensure that each child has the right to be listened to, to have a relationship with their incarcerated parent and to feel safe and secure in expressing themselves. #StarttheConversation #NoKIPLeftBehind
