During last field day for this trip, discovered a new mature individual & 16 seedlings of threatened plant Varronia bellonis #Boraginaceae in Susua State Forest, Puerto Rico bringing known wild population in forest to 4 mature plants! #KewPR @KewUKOTs @KewScience @custoantonio48

Further surveying in Quebrada Grande (eastern edge of Susua State Forest, Puerto Rico) yielded a new Varronia bellonis plant & 3 new Crescentia portoricensis plants. UPR-RUM MSc students collected data from the new individuals to inform conservation. #KewPR @KewUKOTs @KewScience
