🇺🇬 Deep in the hills of Kabale, Mrs.Ainebyona once struggled to find market for her beans. She had harvests, but no buyers. Roads were poor, her SACCO lacked capital, and the youth had given up hope. Then came the Parish Development Model (PDM).

PDM didn’t bring miracles—but it brought organization The community learned to work together: savings groups grew stronger, a simple storehouse was built, and training on value addition began. Ainebyona now supplies her beans to a school feeding program in town.
Her story is one of thousands across Uganda, where the PDM is quietly turning parishes into engines of growth.
But what is the Parish Development Model?
It’s a government-led, people-powered strategy to tackle poverty *from the parish level upward*. Parishes are the smallest planning units—yet the most powerful when equipped and united.
The Model has 7 key pillars:
1️⃣ Production, Storage, Processing & Marketing
2️⃣ Infrastructure & Economic Services
3️⃣ Financial Inclusion*
4️⃣ Social Services*
5️⃣ Mindset Change*
6️⃣ Parish-Based Management Info Systems
