Incorporating technology into the daily school lives of our students is important, and as educators we want to make sure we are going about it the right way. #ldt620
In today’s education landscape, tech integration pertains to how technology is chosen and used for learning. Technology Integration in Today’s K–12 Classrooms | EdTech Magazine https://t.co/T88Rwb2OZV
This issue has been coming up in conversations with peers #ldt620. I like the idea of changing language to increase think time by asking students for a “response” instead of an “answer.”
Formative Assessment using FlipGrid.
#ldt620
Some readers use FlipGrid to answer comprehension questions independently! This is a great formative assessment tool that limits the demands of writing! I can go back in and leave comments/scaffolding questions for the student! @RPS_Orchard #orcharddays

I see so much value in the idea @jaymctighe discusses in this Forbes article—his three part plan redoing assessment which gives attention to 3 learning goals: acquisition, understanding, and transfer. I think as educators we need to advocate for this. #ldt620
Has the time arrived for an assessment overhaul? @michaelbhorn addresses the 3 “legs” of an updated #assessment system created by education writer @jaymctighe and how it would produce a full picture of #education in schools.“https://t.co/8LT8XHcKWv

Starting with the standards to build our essential questions and then building learning experiences off of them is at the heart of backwards design. Students will be even more engaged if they are seeking answers to their own curiosities. #ldt620

This is an interesting point that would take Backwards Design a step further. Rather than individual teachers doing their own things in their own classrooms, truly starting from the top down would help to create a more cohesive school experience for our students. #ldt620
Alignment across grade levels is essential to student success, but cannot be limited by school level. True backwards design must begin at high school - Where do we want students to be when they graduate? How do we get them there, from Day 1 of Kindergarten? Food for thought. 3/3
This incorporates a great organizational tool to help organize the backward design process #ldt620

Creating a common assessment to start will allow for all students to reach the same goals no matter which team teacher they have.

Backwards design in 3rd grade begins with teachers taking the planned end of unit student assessment. They ALL know what students are expected to know and be able to do in the upcoming math unit. I love this team ❤️ @TurnerCreekES
