The Lucy Letby inquiry ignored witness evidence of βappallingβ conditions at the Countess of Chester Hospital, according to Sir David Davis.
Sir David, who believes hospital failings are likely to explain the deaths and collapses of babies at the Countess when Letby was working, said the inquiry had dismissed βclear evidenceβ of poor care and conditions.
In evidence and witness statements, staff members warned the unit was at breaking point. Many thought the high death rate was inevitable because of the high number of small, sick babies being admitted.
