The courts have again acted as a sanity backstop on sex and gender in kicking out Mermaids’ attempt to have LGB Alliance’s charitable status removed. But it’s a dereliction of leadership that so much of this is being left to judges.

When @AllianceLGB first met over 3 years ago it was in total secrecy. We were afraid lest violent trans activists attacked us as they’d targeted feminists. After this week’s victory in the courts it’s time to stand up properly for the reality of biology and same sex attraction.

We heard at @BBC that a briefing note had been circulated saying that @AllianceLGB doesn’t do interviews. This was a bit surprising. I’d like to assure @BBC, @itvnews, @SkyNews @TimesRadio @LBC that Kate Harris, Kate Barker and I are always happy to do interviews.
This case revealed the deep intolerance of the transgender movement. If @Mermaids_Gender really believe in tolerance especially for same-sex attracted people they should welcome and support @AllianceLGB not seek to destroy them. They failed.
Former CEO of Mermaids is wrong. They failed on standing because Mermaids could not meet the legal test on the facts, not because the law is “so complex”. The judges gave no reasons at all for their lack of agreement on LGBA’s charitable status. LGBA remains a registered charity

We are delighted that Mermaids has failed in its attempt to strip @AllianceLGB of their charitable status.
LGB Alliance is the only charity in the UK that exclusively supports gay, lesbian and bisexual people, on the basis of sexual orientation as defined in the Equality Act.
Mermaids is currently under investigation by the Charity Commission after safeguarding allegations were raised about the charity.
Mermaids were supported by the LGBT+ Consortium representing over 500 LGBT+ lobby groups.
All of these groups have redefined same-sex sexual orientation as 'same gender' attraction based on 'gender identity.'
As this ideology has infiltrated schools and been taught as fact, the harms have disproportionately impacted gay, lesbian and bisexual children who play with the 'wrong' toys or struggle with their sexuality in adolescence.
The fact that groups promoting gender identity ideology were so outraged by a charity that supports these children for who they are tells the whole story. Bullying and silencing is the only strategy for a movement that lobbies to replace 'sex' with 'gender identity' throughout society.
Their failure to prevent LGB Alliance from doing their critical work is a victory for everyone who knows that sex is real, and that it's this reality on which sexual orientation is based.
We hope this case raises awareness of LGB rights and the importance of protecting same-sex attracted children and young people in schools.
