IMO physical aggression is a very healthy lively energy. Look at how animals play! But there aren't really healthy ways to practice it in urban society "Try a fighting class." Have you been to a fighting class? The vibe at every gym i've been to had the *opposite* of aggressive energy. The bodies do physically fighting, sure, but nonverbally, everyone's broadcasting the equivalent of "no homo" like "no ferocity intended, don't worry" kind of a blank highly-disciplined soldier vibe Then there's BDSM, which has gained widespread acceptance. But urban BDSM cultures tend to be quite dissociated and orderly. It's with good reason, but it's totally unlike the vibe of two wolves playing with aggression I grew up in a town where physical aggression was normalized. It was a very unhealthy situation. But at the very least there were norms around how to fight. Namely, it was not very hype to break someone's nose or do lasting physical damage. The celebrated thing was to "f*ck someone up" but that meant sending them home with a few bruises – and mostly to their pride Cities are places where ppl are coming from many different cultures. Resultantly, it's hard to share norms like these, so people default to the equivalent of a sort of numb professionalism – it's a safe common denominator in most situations. Everyone knows how to dissociate! But what a shame we don't get to play like the animals we are
