@LeanneSpurs In theory the Lords could and would, but even there that’s less certain now after #LabourLords abstained on freedom changing, democracy busting legislation the Tories put through in the last 5 years (which wasn’t manifesto pledged).
Labour have been threatening to abolish the Lords since 1901.
This has nothing to do with equality.
It has everything to do with having more influence in an unelected house, in order to push through policy that none of the 'commoners' support.
