Jeremiah Maximo, 38, was already charged with GBH and will now face a more serious count. • Jewitt was attacked on the Central line platform at 10.51pm on 30 August after the carnival family day. Metal fences and wooden barricades have been fitted on houses and shopfronts in west London as the 60th edition of Notting Hill Carnival approaches. Last year’s Notting Hill Carnival the Met Police made five hundred and twenty-eight arrests over the two main days. The main offences were one hundred and sixty-seven for drug offences, fifty for possession of an offensive weapon, fifty-five for assaults on police officers, twenty-one for sexual offences, four for violence with injury, and forty-nine for other violence. Sixty-one of those arrests came from live facial recognition, and there were four stabbings reported.
