This combines open source tech, community technologies,#solarpunk,#librarysocialism,
together to form a network of fablabs that take discarded items, and remake them into useful goods. A community tool library, fab lab, and recycling center could make a robust local supply chain.
@Koolermmla There is no way to stop climate change without moving away from capitalism.
Capitalism is, literally, the idea that accumulating money is our primary goal.
It encourages individuals to put themselves before the planet, and punishes those who don't.

But if we expand public libraries to all areas of our society we can all, in effect, become wealthier.
Access to all we need, only when we need it.

@martinrev21 Degrowth, as in lowering total production, is of course vital, to that end we need to dispel the notion that it lowers living standards.
We need to promise LUXURY.

@johnandi @Citizen_Smith56 Of course it is a good idea to raise hope! Our entire problem is a lack of imagination. We should ask for 100x, 1000x more than we expect, demand it to our last breath. If all we achieve is single nationalised utility, that will just inspire us to keep going.

@jaygordoo @JohnStu95325517 A revolution cant just be "destroy the ruling classes, bring down the system". You have to have an alternative that works, that is comprehensive. It doesnt have to be perfect, but it has to be better. Otherwise you are calling for just another disaster.

This could combine with timebanking, to make a system where people can offer and request goods and services and have their basic needs met without monetary exchange. Really thinking about how we can make #librarysocialism and #postcapitalism work right now.
