Hello Breadfam! $BREAD Distribution Cycle #26 is in. 1,999 $BREAD went out to our eight member projects, up from 1,427 last cycle thanks to a longer window for yield to build up.

Also in this edition, @owocki has posted a temp check for a @gitcoin x Bread collab, an Artizen-inspired crowdfunding app with matching that's onchain and funded only from accrued yield. It's early days, so come share your thoughts. Newsletter at the link in bio.

Every month, yield from baked $BREAD gets split two ways. 50% goes equally to all eight member projects, and the other 50% goes where $BREAD holders vote. Cycle #27 is already live, so get baking.

two frontiers im pondering as we quietly lay tracks for @gitcoin next chapter
1. syntropic financing
2. consumer adoption
syntropy is the tendency of living systems to organize toward greater order, energy, and complexity over time.
eg a forest doesn't just sustain itself, it gets richer over time. richer (in the context of nature) = more soil, more species, more energy turned into resilience each season.
syntropic financing asks what capital would look like if it behaved the same way. money that leaves every system it touches more alive than it found it, where the returns are measured in the health and growth of the whole.
consumer adoption is how that reaches the world. the primitive only matters if ordinary people touch it through products they'd already choose, no ideology required.
get both right and you have an engine that grows the system and an on-ramp wide enough for everyone to climb aboard.
I think in 2019-2022 @gitcoin was a leader in both. QF is a small glimmer of what syntropic financing can be. and @gitcoin was one of the first consumer dapps ppl used.
I think that in 2027+ it is possible we could do it again at a larger and more holistic scale - tho success is not guaranteed, this is an aspiration and a target, imo we are well positioned to take another shot.
@breadcoop If you're interested in constructing something new out of the situation then I suggest checking out the showcase I made for a new on-chain and auditable version of what Artizen was trying to do that I've been building using the @breadcoop stack

Our webinar with the Democratic Tech Fund is up. Wouter Tebbens on DTF's crowdfunding platform launching 29 Oct at MozFest, plus @allmodelsRwrong with a sneak peek of a Bread x DTF fund on the $BREAD model.
Hosted by @bertmangil, watch the full session at the link in bio.
For those affected by the Artizen situation, I'm happy to share a showcase that I've been working on built on the @breadcoop stack as an alternative to get feedback.

How it works:
- Deposit and get pasUSD, pasEUR or pasETH. You can always redeem them 1:1 for the underlying token
- The yield from those deposits generates matching funds
- 10% of every donation goes into a wealth fund that permanently earns yield, so the matching pool compounds over time
- Curators run funding rounds and choose which projects to include
- Points from donating, inviting others and using the app let you steer each season's yield split between funds and projects
- The core model already works in production with @BreadCoop for over two years. We've given over $60k in funds through our Solidarity Fund.
There are plenty of technical decisions to be made but I first want to validate that this is something people want. We'd be happy to lead the development if people are positive.
@xdamman@devanshmehta@allmodelsRwrong That is https://t.co/Nnc70TNYtq enabling any community to start their own Solidarity Fund (whuch is also a yield bering stablecoin) 🍞🍞
If an APY looks too good to believe, it probably is. The Solidarity Fund runs on the Sky Savings Rate, with a treasury anyone can verify onchain and two years of steady distributions behind it. Full newsletter at the link in bio.
A quick thread on @Artizen and its ceasing of operations yesterday.
Bread and many creators in the onchain public goods space are owed significant funds, and the only point of contact left is an AI agent called Venus.
Matching funds won't come, and refunds have been promised minus fees. If you contributed, make noise. Their tweets are protected now, so mention them, repost and screenshot. We'll be following up the whole way.
@Caper_Network@Artizen@breadcoop Exactly, our payouts are onchain. Transparent and resilient.
